As St Mary’s College provides a holistic education for boys, all students at the college are encouraged to participate in cultural activities. It is indeed imbedded in our Mission Statement that all are challenged spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, culturally and physically. The cultural activities at the college provide an opportunity for the young men of St Mary’s to express and challenge themselves creatively and intellectually and to refine their talents in performing and creative arts, under skilled and experienced guidance.
Participating in the varied cultural activities at the College further develops the boy’s creative, academic, artistic and technical thinking skills and helps them to become reflective and analytical life-long learners. The Cultural Program at St Mary’s presents opportunities in the following areas:
- Awards Night
- College Productions
- Cultural Evening
- Music Showcase
- School Vocal Groups
- The Annual One Act Play Evening
- Toowoomba Eisteddfod
- Queensland Music Festival
- Queensland Catholic College Music Festival
- Visual Art Exhibitions and Competitions
The Cultural Program at St Mary’s is enhanced by the participation of the boys, staff and parents, all of whom are dedicated to continuing and building on this lasting tradition within the College community. The continued involvement and great achievements of our Old Boys in a variety of cultural activities and events authenticates the positive direction of our program. Further information on the cultural activities at St Mary’s can be obtained by contacting a member of the Creative Arts Department.
