ST MARY'S COLLEGE PRIMARY SCHOOL

DSCF0049.jpgThe St Mary’s College Primary caters for approximately 150 boys across Years 5, 6 and 7.

The school has supported the community for many years in providing quality education for all boys, especially those who struggle for recognition in mixed classes.

In accordance with the teachings of Edmund Rice, the Primary School aims to foster the growth of each student to his full potential through the provision of a wide variety of opportunities.

Our primary is unique in its affiliation with the secondary on the same campus. This allows cross curricular programmes taught by specialists in Technology, Japanese and Woodwork (Year 7) as well as sharing the college resources such as computer rooms, science labs and sports facilities.

This affiliation also affords a smooth and anxiety free transition into the secondary in Year 8.

A vertical pastoral system means boys have contact and support from students and teachers at all levels of the College. House groups meet weekly, with mentor groups meeting twice daily.

In the primary we believe that parents are the first educators of our boys and our school is an extension of home. Therefore parent contact and involvement is essential.
